About & Methodology
How this app computes charts, what it can and cannot tell you, and the assumptions behind every number it shows.
Please read this first
This application is a tool for reflection, learning, and cultural exploration. The interpretations it produces are based on classical Vedic astrology (Jyotisha) — a traditional symbolic system, not an empirically validated science.
Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal, financial, or relationship advice. Do not make important life decisions — about health, marriage, money, or career — based solely on this app. For those decisions, consult qualified professionals.
The "health caution" windows, compatibility scores, and life-event timings are interpretive guidance in a traditional framework, not predictions of certainty. Treat them as prompts for thought, never as verdicts.
Calculation method
Planetary positions are computed using the Swiss Ephemeris, the same high-precision astronomical engine used by professional astrology software, accurate to the arc-second.
- Zodiac: Sidereal (fixed-star based)
- Ayanamsha: Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) — the Indian government standard
- House system: Whole-sign houses (the classical Parashari method)
- Node: Mean node for Rahu/Ketu
- Dasha: Vimshottari (120-year cycle), driven by the Moon's nakshatra
Divisional charts (vargas), Ashtakavarga, KP cuspal sub-lords, Jaimini Chara Dasha, Yogini Dasha, Shadbala, and transit (gochara) interpretations all follow standard classical formulas from sources including the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika.
Honest limitations
We'd rather tell you where the app simplifies than pretend it's perfect:
- Shadbala approximations: three minor sub-components (Ayana Bala, Abdadi Bala, and the Chesta Bala of fast-moving direct planets) use documented neutral baselines rather than the full ephemeris-derived arithmetic. The strong/weak verdict and rankings are reliable; the exact virupa values are approximate.
- Unknown birth time: when you mark the time as unknown, the chart uses noon as a placeholder. Slow-planet signs stay reliable, but the Lagna, houses, and Dasha become approximate. The app flags this clearly on the chart page.
- Interpretation is rule-based: the app applies classical rules consistently, but it cannot replicate the holistic synthesis of an experienced astrologer who weighs the whole chart together.
- Predictions are not deterministic: traditional astrology offers tendencies and timing windows, not guarantees. Different schools and ayanamshas can yield different readings.
Reading in Telugu / Hindi
The app's interpretations are written in English. To read them in Telugu, Hindi, or another language, use your browser's built-in translation: in Chrome, right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Translate to…". This translates the entire page instantly and handles the whole reading, including tables.
Your data & privacy
Saved profiles ("My Charts") live in your browser only — they are never sent to a server. Use Export/Import to back them up or move them between devices.
When you compute a chart, the birth data is sent to the calculation server and the result is cached to make repeat lookups fast. On a private/family deployment this stays on your own machine.
